About Us

We are a therapist owned, Michigan based private mental health practice.

We are accepting new clients for our CADILLAC office. We also offer mental health therapy throughout Michigan. We work with individuals, couples, families, kids, and relationships.

We work with most health insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, and offer an affordable income based sliding scale, and offer a limited free service for those that qualify.

In partnership with clients, we develop and use existing interventions and make cultural adaptations to meet the client’s unique needs. We always use a collaborative approach; and believe clients should be involved in choosing their treatment in every step, and encourage clients to be fully engaged in what they are feeling in terms of the process or interventions. All therapists work from a trauma-informed and trauma-focused perspective. We work to meet you where you are and honor your story and experience.

We offer virtual (telephone or video) to anyone throughout the State of Michigan. We have a physical (in-person) office in Cadillac, with a second office coming soon in Marquette.

My approach to therapy draws on ideas rooted in client-centered, cognitive behavioral, and existentialist theories. Clients are all unique in their goals and search for meaning in life. My initial aim is to provide a nonjudgmental space for self-exploration. I offer a safe space for clients seeking hope. I guide clients through their own introspection which leads to revelation and healing. I also apply a cognitive behavioral lens to challenge and reframe automatic thoughts that hold clients back. I believe that human beings can change our relationship to our emotions by experiencing them mindfully rather than avoiding or trying to get rid of them. I offer insight based on training in CBT techniques, experience, and intuition, but it is from within the client that the answers emerge. I am honored and privileged to journey alongside clients to help them become their most authentic and happiest self.

Victoria Eddy

victoria@michigantherapyandcounseling.com

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and obtained my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Gardner-Webb University. Historically, I have experience with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, addictions, etc. I have counseled adults in individual and group settings and would prefer clients ages 16 and older. All cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities are welcome.

As your therapist, I want to meet your needs and personalize therapy to work toward the goals that we set together. To optimally meet your needs, I would ask that you regularly give feedback to me based on what you feel is going well and areas you would like to change. The purpose of our therapeutic relationship is to work toward the goals and areas of your life that you would like to be different. My goal with you in therapy is to work toward wholeness, restoration, and coping strategies so you can lead a satisfying life. The work that we do together in therapy is only the beginning and is meant to give you tools in your toolbox for the future and attunement to personal and relational formation.

I will utilize an individualized approach for each person. We all approach our lives in different ways, so I will tailor my approach to your individual needs. This will include approaches taken from various therapeutic approaches such as, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and person-centered. It is important to practice the things you learn in sessions in your daily life. This may not come easy at first, but over time you will begin to see improvements. Some examples of assignments I might utilize are journaling, breathing exercises, mindfulness exercises, or short readings. Your experience is my top priority, so feel free to reach out with any concerns.
